The Directors of The Textile and Design Studio (TT|DS), Niamh Brennan and Sonya Romeo, first crossed paths at the Australian Institute of Creative Design (AICD). Serendipitously, they discovered they both lived on the same island on the Gold Coast, and a natural friendship soon blossomed. It was during this time, while collaborating on a renovation design project, that the idea for the Coast Collection was born—a response to the challenge of sourcing unique, stylish performance fabrics.

In its early stages, the Coast Collection was printed onto fabric base cloths using a dye-sublimation process. However, after testing the fabrics in Australia's harsh outdoor climate, it became evident that they needed to evolve. This led to the formation of 3Beaches Textiles Pty Ltd (3Beaches), with a focus on quality and durability. Partnering with Sunbrella, the global leader in performance fabrics, the Coast Collection was reimagined using 100% Sunbrella acrylic.

Since 2016, Niamh and Sonya have remained the driving force behind 3Beaches, continuing their collaboration with Sunbrella to create collections such as the serene Cocoon Collection, the vibrant Jewel Collection, and the timeless Auchenflower Collection, with more to come.

Beyond 3Beaches, Sonya and Niamh expanded their vision to form The Textile & Design Studio (TT|DS), a platform dedicated to curating exceptional brands that share their commitment to excellence. TT|DS proudly distributes Dash & Albert rugs, Jerry Pair Leather hides, and Santa Barbara Designs umbrellas, while also manufacturing, embroidering, weaving, and printing 3Beaches and TT|DS designs onto premium materials such as leather, bedding, and wallpaper.

Guided by the expertise and vision of Sonya and Niamh, TT|DS offers a bespoke textile and interior design service to a select clientele across marine, residential, and commercial sectors.
